How do prescriptions work if I'm in a state where you cannot prescribe medications?
Your individual treatment plan may include specific prescription medication and testing, and with your permission, we will reach out directly to your existing PCP or other local provider to communicate our visit notes and treatment recommendations.
Your local provider would be responsible for directly prescribing any treatment for you based on our evaluation. In most cases, they are willing to do this based on the advice of our specialists.
Please note that our ability to prescribe is based on where you are located when you hold your telehealth visit, NOT where you live. If you live in RI, but you hold your visit in MA, for example, Neura can still send your prescriptions to a local pharmacy in RI. Alternatively, you can hold your visit in RI, but in that case we would send visit notes and treatment recommendations to your local provider, who would be the one to prescribe any meds.
