Tell us a little about your background/training. 

I attended Union University for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My nursing background was in the neuro intensive care unit in Memphis, TN. After several years of nursing I went back to Union University and obtained my Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. I continued to work in neurology doing inpatient and outpatient neurology.

Tell us about why you chose to work in neurology - what interested you most about this field?  

The brain is so fascinating! I have loved neurology since graduating nursing school. There are a lot of things we still do not understand and the field is ever-evolving. Several neurological conditions overlap and it is often challenging and very rewarding.

What have been the things you are most proud of in your career?

 I am proud of the knowledge I have gained over the past 5 years! I have enjoyed each colleague I have worked with and have been trained by some of the best neurologists. I am proud to continue my career in neurology with Neura Health!

What have you learned from your patients that has helped you become a better provider? 

I have learned to be a good listener. There are times when someone has had symptoms for months to years and have been unable to see a neurology provider. Listening and taking appropriate time with each patient is so important.
